After all that it's going to take a bit of time to sink in, but yeah, it was mostly awesome.

I've had an awkward last day of 2009. Fitting end to the decade really.

I've been feeling rotten - not just from dry lips and a buggered up wi-fi connection - because two things I hold so dear are leaving me.
It should be something to be happy about, since Molly is going to be properly cared for from now on, and DT's moving on to bigger, even better things.

Think of it as retirement for the my neighbour's 14 year old cat. I say "neighbour's cat" loosely. She's at that age when she needs looking after, to be groomed and fed regularly, whereas before Melanie took her in she relied on us to feed her and fuss over her.

I stroked her fuzzy pelt, scratched her chin, her muzzle, and held her paw. And then she was carted away to live with Mel's mother. Her dodgy tooth had been removed, so she eat more comfortably, and she'll have her that cyst - a benign tumour, as it turned out *I knew it!* - removed by the vet imminently.

Molly was a big part of my childhood during the late 90's and this past decade. I'll miss her perching on the window sill outside, squeaking and mewing for leftover chicken, fighting and cussing at a rival cat, her deadpan snarkiness, spending lazy summer mornings/afternoons with her in the garden...

Resolutions for 2010:
Read before bedtime, and don't stay up after 1am
Be punctual
Work hard without over-doing it
Pull back, plan ahead, and RELAX
Network, go places, and observe
Don't spend countless hours on one thing
Continue to grow
Childhood never lasts, so never let it go

A time of peace, family get togethers, chocolate, David Tennant, pigs-in-blankets, turkey, movies, David Tennant, chipmunks, TV specials, lists, Baby Jeebus, David Tennant...

As much as I'm glad we're having a white christmas, from the looks of things, it's not without its hazards.

I think the last LJ post I made was last Christmas XD no I've just been tweeting and extremely busy at uni. Toon Boom has taken over my life, though not in the same way as Maya. Which isn't to say I don't enjoy Maya, it's just drawing is immediate and my preferred method of expression. With Toon Boom I've learned so much about single/extended frames and other principles more than I did in previous modules.

Last Friday I was late for the presentation, and now it's postponed until I can get hold of Sue. I'm bound to make up for the 10% of marks I might lose. I've worked so hard to top myself with this animated sequence - hand-drawn to coincide with The Princess and the Frog. Because it's a professional brief, set by Phoenix Square, it's all about showmanship. Making a movie takes pertinence.

I'll upload the short once the whole project and research report are complete. Apart from the ink/paint, tones/highlights and the music, 90% of the animation is done, and I've got until Jan 15th to refine it all.
